Weekend Update
Dear Resident,
This Saturday, May 4 all are welcome to our Big Rig Rally to enjoy a close-up look at fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, tractors, and excavator and more (flyer in ‘Events’ below).
Saturday is also International Firefighter Day and I invite residents to take a moment at the rally to thank our firefighters who volunteer 24/7 to keep our homes and families safe.
As we enjoy the warmer weather and our recreation facilities, we ask for your cooperation in keeping our beautiful parks and fields clean and enjoyable for all. After enjoying a game or playtime, please remember to pick up any trash or litter and dispose of it properly. After walking your furry friends, please remember to curb your dogs by picking up after them keeping our grassy areas, sidewalks and waterways clean. Let's all do our part in preserving the natural beauty of our community. Thank you for your cooperation.
EVENTS
Big Rig Rally – This touch a truck event will be held on May 4 from noon – 2:30 (quiet time for those with sensory concerns from 2-2:30). Free and no registration needed. FLYER
Harlem Wizards v Teachers & Staff - Tickets on sale now for this amazing community event to be held May 30. Police Chief Pezzullo is the special referee. Tickets are selling fast. FLYER
PUBLIC NOTICES
Bulk/Spring Cleanup and Brush Collection – Underway by zone as per the recycling calendar. Please remember that there is no bulk collection the week following Mother’s Day to allow the street to remain clear for visiting families. To ensure that our streets stay clear and safe for traffic, pedestrians, we ask that residents follow the regulations and timelines. Review the letter HERE and FLYER
County Shredding – Monmouth County hosts shredding events open to all county residents. On May 18 the truck will be at the Municipal Complex from 9-1 or until the trucks fill. FLYER
Primary Election June 4 – Vote by Mail (VBM) ballots were mailed on April 20 for those registered to VBM. May 28 is the last day to apply for VBM ballot. Your completed VBM ballot may be placed in the drop box in the Town Hall parking lot. The last day to register for the primary election is May 15. Property Taxes - Second quarter property taxes must be received by Friday, May 10th to avoid interest. Note that interest charges on payments made after the grace period are calculated back to the May 1st due date. Read the Tax Collector’s letter HERE.
Pet Licensing– Per Township Ordinance, the late fee for dog renewal licenses became effective May 1 and a $15 late fee will be added to all dog renewal licenses in addition to the registration fee. Beginning June 30, a $50 summons may be issued (per Township Code 94-21) for each unlicensed dog and must be paid thru Municipal Court before you can register the dog. Please note, new pet registrations do not incur the penalty. Licensing your dogs and cats annually is required by state and town regulations. The rabies vaccine must be current at the time of application. On line and mail-in information HERE.

Monmouth County Wellness Transportation - Monmouth County has partnered with EZ Ride to provide essential transportation services for residents who may face challenges accessing necessary wellness resources by providing transportation services for essential needs such as doctor’s appointments, pharmacy visits, health department events, and access to food shopping and pantries. Message from the Office of Chief Pezzullo - As always, lock your car doors, take the key fobs inside, remove garage door openers, lock your house doors/windows and set alarms. Do not leave your keys easily visible/accessible. If you see anything out of place or suspicious call the police at 732-536-0100. For crimes in progress dial 911. Agendas, where applicable, are posted to the website not less than 48 hours in advance of the meeting and are linked to the calendar event. COVID-19 Ratepayer Measures provide relief to ratepayers experiencing economic hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The NJ Department of Community Affairs has developed a low income household water assistance program. Please review the letter from the Marlboro Water Utility HERE.
